There is a new International WKA (World Kickboxing Association) Champion in town and his home is Tiger Schulmann’s Karate! Shennen Maceo (Team Tiger Schulmann's) fought the #1 ranked fighter in the world, Susumu Diaguji, from Japan, in the night’s most exciting fight. In past fights, Shennen has lacked enough wind to fight his best from beginning to end. This time he left nothing to chance. For a month and a half before the big night, Shennen allowed other Tiger Schulmann's employees to run his karate school located in Danbury, CT. During this time, he concentrated solely on training rigorously three times a day to prepare for this historic fight. Shennen showed up on Friday night with one thing on his mind…a championship belt. And a championship belt is exactly what he got! Shennen fought like a superior athlete and a true warrior, with great composer, perfect kicks, and masterful hands. He got a little fatigued in the second round, but came back with a vengeance in the third. Not to mention, he did it all on his 29th birthday!
Sophia Gegovic (Team Tiger Schulmann's) completely dominated Andrea Deangelo (Zarko Academy) with her superior hand speed and amazing knee kicks. Simply put, Andrea, a tough fighter, was technically overwhelmed by Sophia. All three judges scored the fight exactly the same, deciding that Sophia won all three rounds. Congrats Sophia!
Corey Miller (Team Tiger Schulmann's) fought Dimitri (Bordon’s Gym) in a Muay Thai bout. Dimitri is much taller than Corey, preventing Corey from finding his distance in the first two rounds. Corey came back, in the third round with a beautiful straight right that knocked Dimitri to the ground. However, Corey simply could not finish him off, resulting in a loss.
