TSMMA Team of the NIght at ROC XXVIII

Atlantic City, NJ - Things just keep looking up for Team Tiger Schulmann. Using Ring of Combat as a springboard to huge success worked wonders for Lyman Good. Now he has a few teammates trying to copy his blueprint. Friday night brought Mike Murray, Louis Gaudinot and Nick Pace to Atlantic City. Gaudinot has been a constant at Ring of Combat, sporting a 3-1 record coming in, his only loss coming after a severe sprained ankle in training. Mike Murray sported a 2-0 record but had been away from fighting for almost six years. Rounding out the fights would be NIck Pace who set the bar high wiht his knockout of Colin Tebo last June. They were supposed to be joined by Uriah Hall, but the up and coming 185 pound star saw two opponents back out of fights with him in the last two weeks.

Mike Murray would start things off for Team TSMMA. He faced Ryan Castillo, a tough young fighter from the Serra Longo camp. Murray landed strong punches early in the first round and worked his guard game beautifully after things hit the mat. He locked in an armbar that looked dangerous to Castillo, but the Serra trained fighter escaped and ended the first round with a deep knee bar that took every ounce of Murray's courage to survive. Murray showed great non-quitting spirit as he came out to the second round with a slight limp only to quickly take Castillo to the ground and work top position. He would pass guard to sidemount and then mount and secured a textbook armbar after forcing Castillo to turn sideways with strikes. Congratulations to Murray who returned to training after serving our country in Iraq and once again made all of us proud with an outstanding performance.

Gaudinot was up next with the Yonkers Sensei sporting his trademark green hair. He would face a solid standup fighter in Tuan Pham of the Fight Firm in Philadelphia, but Gaudinot wasn't afraid to trade with Pham. "Fans want to see big knockouts and I wanted to show them that us little guys can provide them just as well as the heavyweights," said Gaudinot. This quote came after a jab cross combination put an early end to Pham's night. Gaudinot was victorious via KO in the first round.

Finishing things off was Nick Pace who would take on Lennox Chance, a world champion kickboxer making his MMA debut. He picked the wrong guy to fight against as Nick took full advantage of Chance's weakness. Using the first opening, Pace ducked under a Chance flurry to secure a double leg and deftly moved from side mount to mount with a beautiful transition and finally found his way to the back where he quickly secured the choke that would end the night early for Lennox Chance.

Congratulations to all three young fighters for putting on an amazing display of ability and thank you to all the fans of TSMMA who came to Atlantic City to support our fighters.
