Sensei Jason Lopez began his MMA training in 1994 at the TSMMA Oceanside School under Sensei P. Guzman. He is currently the Head Instructor of the TSMMA flagship school in Manhattan, New York.

After earning his black belt, he began training under the instruction of Shihan Ron Schulmann in June of 1998. He earned the title of Sensei in 2000, becoming the youngest sensei at that time. He has competed and won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in several North American Grappling Association tournaments including the advanced divisions.

Several students Sensei Lopez trains have become first degree black belts, some of which have gone on to compete themselves. Such students include Lyman Good, an undefeated MMA fighter and undefeated World Combat League fighter, Sofia Gegovic, a New York Golden Glove boxing finalist, Metropolitan Boxing champion, U.S. Nationals Bronze medalist, and Carlos Brooks, a World Combat League NJ Tigers fight team member.

On top of teaching at TSMMA Manhattan, Sensei Lopez has also been chosen to aid in training our successful and ever growing fight team. He is one of the head coaches for the TSMMA grappling fight team and teaches the TSMMA fighters consistently at the Tiger Schulmann’s corporate headquarters under the supervision and approval of Master Tiger Schulmann.
